This year, 2019 sees us celebrating 24 years in business. During the worst recession that Ireland has ever seen, Tour America is delighted to have grown and sustained the test of time and we owe our successes to our extremely dedicated and loyal team of travel experts, to you, our loyal customers and to our suppliers who provide us with excellent product deals year round.
Tour America began in our Managing Director's living room with a small team of three. Today, we employ 50 staff, have offices in Dublin and Cork and two representatives in the USA, based in Orlando, Florida.
Our mission statement is very clear, 'to have a raving fan club!', and our team are willing and able to exceed all of your holiday expectations. Our vision is to be different, and provide you, our customer, with new and unique ways to enjoy your holiday. Our values are to encourage a happy team, who feel respected and appreciated in a high performing organisation, to care about you, our customers.
Here at Tour America, we don't only offer once in a life time holidays to America, Canada and Mexico but we also specialise in cruises around the world with our Cruise Holidays brand. The benefit of booking with Tour America and Cruise Holidays is that our team has experienced our products and destinations first hand so that they can offer you the best advice and guidance when booking your holiday.
2019 has already been a hugely successful year for Tour America. Tour America have won Deloitte's Best Managed Company for the 10th consecutive year and in January 2019, our marketing team scooped up two prestigious marketing awards at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2019, for Best Bricks and Mortar Marketing Campaign and Best Digital Marketing Campaign. Following a successful start, Tour America won Best Use of Social Media at the Travel Media Awards 2019 in May and Best Video Campaign at the Social Media Awards 2019 in July. Mary McKenna also scooped the TAB Excellence in Business Award 2019. This success follows on from a very success 2018.
2018 was a fantastic year for Tour America, as we were announced as the Travel Agency of the Year at the Irish Travel Awards 2018! This prestigious accolade portrays our commitment to always offering the best experience for our customers and the entire team are thrilled to have been recognized in front of industry partners and friends at the Irish Travel Awards 2018. We also won Best Use of Social Media at the Travel Media Awards 2018 as well as the Best Use of Social Media at the Social Media Awards 2018.
2017 was an amazing year for Tour America. Tour America / Cruise Holidays was awarded Number 1 Irish Travel Agent with Royal Caribbean and we have also won the Most Innovative Marketing Campaign at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2017. We were also delighted to receive the prestigious Deloitte Best Managed Company Award 2017 for the 8th consecutive year running. In May 2017, we picked up Best Use of Social Media at the Social Media Awards 2017 and in June 2017, we also won Best Use of Social Media at the Travel Media Awards 2017. We were also delighted to win the prestigious Chairman's Honour Circle Award 2017 at IPW in Washington DC. And, most recently, Tour America's MD Mary McKenna, scooped Woman of the Year at the Everywoman Awards in the UK.
2016 was an exciting year for Tour America. In November, Tour America / Cruise Holidays won the prestigious award of Best MSC Yacht Club Performer at the MSC Cruises All Star Awards 2016. Liz Wright, who has worked with Tour America since the beginning won Leisure Travel Professional of the Year 2016 at the Irish Travel Industry Awards. We were also recently awarded the extremely prestigious Deloitte's Platinum Club Award for winning Deloitte's Best Managed Company Award for the 7th year running.
2015 saw Tour America scooping up the Best Use of Social Media Award at the Social Media Awards for the third year running. Tour America also proudly scooped up Deloitte's Best Managed Company Award for the sixth year running. Tour America remain the only travel company in Ireland to achieve this award. This follows on from a very exciting 2014 where we extended our product range for Orlando, Las Vegas, New York and many more cities within the USA to make your holiday experience all the better. We also won many prestigious awards including: Best Tour Operator and Best Use of Social Media at the Travel Media Awards 2014, Best use of Social Media by an SME at the Bord Gais Energy Social Media Award 2014, the Services Award at the Small Firm Association Awards and the Deloitte's Best Managed Company Gold Award.
Cruise Holidays has been voted Top Cruise Tour Operator in Ireland by Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Line and MSC Cruises. Other awards in 2013/2014 include Best Tour Operator and Best use of Social Media by a Travel Company in the Irish market at the Blue Insurance Travel Media Awards. We also won Best Leisure Travel Professional of the Year for our own Christine, who has worked with Tour America for 17 years.
Tour America are also Disney specialists and our Disney brand, Magic Holidays, focuses on offering our customers the best value Disney packages to destinations including Orlando, Paris and Anaheim.

We like to stay ahead of the posse and our Social Media sites continue to entertain and inform our customers of great deals, holidays and news, each with a fun twist to get you excited about the USA and travel.
We are the only tour operator to offer a 24-hour service to all our clients. We are licensed and bonded by the commission of aviation, which protects all our customers and we are a member of the ITAA (the Irish Travel Agent Association). This gives you the confidence that you are in safe hands when you book with Tour America.
Our charity partnership is with Temple Street Children's Hospital and we intend to continue to nurture and support this fantastic hospital.
